VW Won't Build Diesel Vehicles for US Anymore

An Audi executive recently stated that the Volkswagen Group will not be releasing anymore diesel powered vehicles for the United States. This follows one of the largest automotive scandals since Toyota's floor mat issue. The Volkswagen Group includes VW, Audi and Porsche.

While being interviewed by Car & Driver, Peter Mertens (Audi's development executive) said "I do not believe that Americans in their true belief and heart, their cultural way of driving, are suited to diesel."

It looks like the last diesel vehicles that will be sold by the VW Group will be leftover 2015 TDI vehicles that have been updated recently.
